SitePopularity provides an answer to the following question: how popular is this site? When you launch the application, a wizard shows up and helps you create a new project. Run the project, let the application do its job, and an answer to the aforementioned question will be provided.

The SitePopularity installer is little over 1MB in size, so downloading it won’t take long. Download the installer, run it, and a setup wizard will show up. As expected, this wizard will help you quickly complete the installation process. Please note that you will be installing a shareware product – until you purchase a license, you will be using a trial version that has limited functionality to offer.

The main panel on the application’s interface displays all your SitePopularity projects. Above this main panel there’s a File Menu and a toolbar with buttons for various features and functions SitePopularity has to offer. Overall, it is a simple layout, one that will not be a problem, from an ease of use point of view, of course.

By default, SitePopularity presents a Quick Start Wizard at startup. This is a 5-step wizard that will help you create a new project:
Step 1 – name and create your project.
Step 2 – add one or multiple URLs, import a list of URLs.
Step 3 – pick your connection speed.
Step 4 – select the ranking criteria that will be analyzed: Google Pagerank, Alexa Traffic Rank, Dmoz listing, Compete Rank, Alexa backlinks, Bing backlinks, Google Backlinks.
Step 5 – enable URL extraction, pick the depth for the URL extraction.

Before it runs your newly created project, SitePopularity will ask if you want to use Safesearch or not. By using SitePopularity you will avoid getting blocked by search engines and will reduce bandwidth usage and server load. But it may make the program work slower.

As mentioned above, SitePopularity is shareware and the trial version has limited functionality to offer. To be more precise, the trial version is limited to 2 projects and 5 URLs per project.

Care to see how popular a website is? Use SitePopularity to get an answer to this question.

Pros

Downloading and installing SitePopularity on your Windows-powered PC will take very little time. There is nothing complicated about the application’s interface. A wizard will help you create projects. You can select what ranking criteria will be analyzed.

Cons

Trial limitations: limited to 2 projects and 5 URLs per project; nag screen at launch and on exit.
